QotD: It's Too Late to Apologize
Has anyone ever done something so horrible to you that "I'm sorry" couldn't fix it?
"My God Bones, What have I done?
What you had to do. What you always do. Turn death into a fighting chance to live."
Yes, i did it. The final word on this issue is that my car was totaled and a got a few bucks for it, and I do mean a few. The hard lesson I learned from this incident is that "after-market" parts are not covered by insurance. That would be fine except that 75% of the car was performance parts and such, so I took a big hit on that end. The settlement I got doesn't even cover the price of my wheels.
I also just wanted to say for the record that as fast and reckless as I sometimes drove, I never caused any damage to the car. Over the years all the dents and body damage happened by others while it was parked, always parked. The irony is that a machine that was transformed into a thing of speed and performance was taken out while parked.
In the end, the "Black Sunshine's" destruction was a necessary loss. Soon I will have a new vehicle, one far younger and more powerful.
